Salmon River Habitat Restoration Project
Recipient: Main Brook Research and Development Corporation
Approved Amount: $29,304
Year Approved: 2017
Joe Farrell’s Brook: The entire length of the brook has been channelized through a reduction in meanders with alterations in stream channel course and channel substrate. These alterations have reduced salmon production. These sections will be treated by placing boulder clusters.
Scammel’s Brook: The upper section has long channelized stream sections reducing normal meander patterns. To re-establish the natural meander all section will be rehabilitated by the placement of instream boulders.
