Bartibog River Salmon Enhancement and Shoreline Stabilization Project

The Bartibog River has no recent habitat assessment despite it’s’ local popularity as a trout and Atlantic salmon angling river. MREAC with the support of the Bartibogue Fish and Game Association will complete three sections of fish habitat assessment on the headwaters, mid reach and lower reach of the river.  We will also allow headwater access to spawning fish in the fall by breaching a series of headwater beaver dams.  Finally we will design and implement a long term solution to a major sedimentation issue that occurs annually on the Kenna Road resulting in major siltation during any major rain event.
