The watershed boasts cold water, some of the most wilderness stream sections on PEI and a strong community interest and involvement. It is the Islands third largest watershed with much potential for increase Atlantic salmon production. There are many stream sections and tributaries that, with the right restoration efforts, would support an increase of Atlantic salmon production thus safeguarding the PEI Northumberland Straight genetic stock.
